Exhibition: Gerhard Almbauer
The vernissage will take place on 23 May at 6.30 pm at Rabenstein Castle.
Gerhard Almbauer, born in Graz in 1957, is a versatile artist with a broad spectrum of creative activities. He has dedicated himself to drawing and photography since his youth. He discovered his passion for oil painting in the 1970s before switching to watercolours in 1986. His interest in etching and oil painting intensified from 1993, while from 1997 he began to work intensively on sculptures and bronzes. His large sculptures include the bull "Philo" in Graz. His works are not only represented in public and private collections, but are also shown at art fairs and in galleries. He has also been successful with book, catalogue and art calendar publications. He has been leading painting seminars in Europe and Asia since 1989, has been a lecturer at the Bad Reichenhall Art Academy in Germany since 1999 and is a co-founder of the Kunstfabrik Wien. Almbauer has received international awards and lives and works in Graz.
