Love at first sight
It really was love at first sight when Barbara and Bernhard Windisch made the acquaintance of alpacas for the first time in their lives while on vacation in South America. Right away, they were completely fascinated by the affectionate, woolly animals with the funny googly eyes.
That was a little more than 10 years ago, so it is really not an eternity and it is unbelievable what has happened in this time: Stables were renovated and rebuilt, the first alpacas were bought, courses were completed (training in alpaca breeding, professional shearing, etc.), employees were recruited and trained, alpaca babies were born, the animals were trained and successfully visited international shows, concepts for farm visits and special offers such as alpaca yoga, trekking, store, marketing, etc. were developed ...
The efforts have paid off, today Schöcklblick Alpacas may call themselves not without pride as the largest alpaca farm in Austria. Currently, the herd counts around 120 New World camelids.
